Shakira – “How Do You Do? – Answers

A friend of mine relates to this song, so I decided to find the answers.
Here's what I found.

Lyrics are left-justified, answers are indented.

Lyrics: How Do You Do?

Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who have trespassed against us
Give us this day our daily bread
Daily bread, daily bread

In Cello et In terra fiat Voluntas Tua Gloria Spiritui Sancto

What language do you speak
If you speak at all?

He speaks them all. See Genesis 11:1-9 (Tower of Babel) regarding
why we don't.

Languages are limited in what they can express. He understands
our deepest feelings that cannot be expressed in words.

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know
what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
with groans that words cannot express."
- Romans 8:26

He does speak.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life." - John 3:16

Many can't hear Him (or won't listen) because they are separated
from Him:

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

"The wages of sin is death" [spiritual separation from God] (Romans 6:23).

("Sin" is a greek archery term: hamartano = to miss the
mark of aim; then, to miss or wander from the right path; to go, or
do wrong")

Are you some kind of freak
Who lives to raise the ones who fall?

Jesus died to raise the ones who fell, but this question is really
based on a misunderstanding of God:

In order for there to be love, there must be free choice.
In order for there to be free choice, there must be the ability to fall.
It's your choice whether to fall or stand.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and
the door will be opened to you." - Matthew 7:7

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice
and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me"
- Jesus (Revelation 3:20)

Hey, would you tell me why
The cat fights the dog?

Some cats and dogs get along.

Do you go to the Mosque
Or the Synagogue?

Neither.
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who
is in you, whom you have received from God?" - Corinthians 6:19

"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the
name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" - Acts 2:38

And if our fates have all been wrapped around your finger
And if you wrote the script then why the troublemakers?

"First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers
will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires."
- 2 Peter 3:3

The "troublemakers" are humans making mistakes. As with all our
mistakes we must realize them, repent, and be forgiven. He's waiting
for everyone who will repent to do so:

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand
slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but
everyone to come to repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9

Although God does not simply eliminate those who
do wrong (so that they may have a chance to repent), he does
repay (some call this "Karma", but there is an active
consciousness behind it):
"Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath,
for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the
Lord." - Romans 12:19

How do you do?
How does it feel to be so high
And are you happy?

There are no references in the Bible to God being "happy", only to
Him making people happy.

"But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be
happy and joyful. " - Psalm 68:3

God is sometimes "pleased" however:
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with
such sacrifices God is pleased. " - Hebrews 13:16

Most references to "Joy" in the Bible refer to people having joy, or
the Lord giving people joy. Even in this verse Jesus is
receiving joy through the Holy Spirit:
"At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I
praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have
hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to
little children..."
- Luke 10:21

God gives joy and loves us, but is pained by those who have fallen
and are "troublemakers":

"The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his
heart was filled with pain." - Genesis 6:6

Do you ever cry?

Yes.
"Jesus Wept" -John 11:35

Are you sometimes sad?

See above.

You've made mistakes
Well that's OK 'cause we all have
But if I forgive yours
Will you forgive mine?

"You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be
like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'He
did not make me'? Can the pot say of the potter, 'He knows nothing'?"
- Isaiah 29:16

He will forgive you.

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become
children of God, even to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12)

"By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works that no
one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice
and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me"
- Jesus (Revelation 3:20)

"Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the
name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'" - Acts 2:38

Hey, do you feel our pain
And walk in our shoes?

"The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his
heart was filled with pain." - Genesis 6:6

He seeks to end our pain.
"he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away
the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people
from all the earth. The LORD has spoken. " - Isaiah 25:8

Have you ever felt starved
Or is your belly always full?

"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by
the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was
hungry." - Matthew 4:1-2

How many people die
And hurt in your name?
Hey, does that make you proud
Or does it bring you shame?

One of the Ten Commandments:
"You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD
will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name." -Exodus 20:7

Because someone says they're doing something for God doesn't mean
God told them to do it. "Shame"? No, but anger that those who might
turn to him are lead astray by those who do wrong "in His name".

As for the question "how many people die", there are those who follow
God that are "killed".
"The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout
men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are
taken away to be spared from evil. " -Isaiah 57:1

Death means separation. Death from this world is to return to God.
